Often when we talk about modernization, there is an implicit ASSUMPTION that we are just talking about adopting better TECHNOLOGY, more modern technology stack, maybe a more modern architectural patterns and approaches, maybe a more modern user experience for users. BUT these are just aspects of the product.
If we do not understand and change what creates the product, so the organization around the product, it's very unlikely that you succeed in modernizing the product because the old behaviors, the behaviors that brought the product in the current state, with this gap that you want to fill through modernization, will keep winning on any ambition of doing something more modern.β
